if im thinking of what ur thinking then yes it is stiffer than a stock shifter. i can only really compare the obx shifter that was in my 240 to my celica or friends saturn. those are really the onyl other manual cars i've driven

Jodi has one in her car, and i don't like it, its too rattley and doesnt feel too short, i cant compare it to any other short shifter because thats the only one ive felt for a 240.

ive felt a b&M for an rx-7 and it felt reaaaallly good

b&m short shifters are unholy, I LOVE how they click and the gears are like .5 inches apart, seriously amazing. Never heard of an OBX ss on a 240, let us know how it turns out.

The b&m is sweet. I have one. However, as with any full race part, be prepared to give up a little more cabin silence when you install it. I will go ahead and let you know to ziptie lead wheel weights to the shaft below the large weight to damp noise coming from the shifter. It is a full postitive contact, positive lock shifter. The rattling will vary with the type of knob you use. If it screws on, it will make less noise, if it is a universal, it will make more noise generally.

Are B&M's SS better than C's SS?

alright here is the low down on C's and B&M...

I have a C's and I have driven a car with B&M

C's has nice shifts.. you don't have to jam it into gears and it does not have that notchy feeling nor the metal feel...smooth and nice..<~this is what I have

B&M is very notchy.. have to shove the dam thing in to gears..this has a shorter throw than my C's... not by that much though.. very little.. metal feel and also tough...

C's is more of everyday shifter where as the B&M is more like the race one... you pick the one you want! they both are great IMHO..

B&M does feel really nice though.. but I went with C's because of the price! I got it for like $50 from someone who did not know what they had...

other than that... there are plenty of threads about the short shifters... please search...:)

hope this helped
