The best one is probably the B&M, but there are other cheaper brands out there.

Definately B&M make sure you upgrade your clutch, if anything to a stage 2/ 6 puck or wouldnt have to go that far, but if you are grabbing gears quicker you will wear out the factory clutch fast. Been there done that. http://www.webspawner.com/users/drewh24/

I'm partial to my custom titanium short shifter... Less than 2.5" gear to gear and sweet shifting.

Short shifter top; stock bottom

You betcha!

Longer below the fulcrum means shorter throw on top side. Basic principles of leverage.

I know, most folks don't have a clue what a short shifter is or how it works, but now you know.

Tain't a fact. A short shifter doesn't have diddly to do with wearing out a clutch. That notion is pure and utter fiction. A short shifter does not "grab gears quicker." You were probably slipping your clutch too much if you burnt it up. Now, when you get a little more HP and TQ, then you need an improved clutch. Get a little more HP and TQ and you'll need an upgraded diff.

Give http://zchickz.com a try -- that's where we hang out. In the Garage section are complete instructions on how to install a short shifter on a 350Z and 300ZX.
