Making? Like fabbing one urself? I have no idea, i purchased mine from z1....the price was fair and the throws def are shorter, almost too short at times. Its like the car is driving itself, I'm not into going to the track or anything but even just DD'ing it makes the car alot more fun to drive imo

Unless your really looking to shave off thousandths of a second in a race, I don't think it will.

The factory shift throws are already short. (imo)

I've driven a few cars including a Z equipped with short shifters. maybe it's just me but it confuses the hell out of me, sometimes I can't tell between 1st and 3rd.

I bought a short shifter (forgot who makes it, it was about $150-$200). Installed it (painstakingly), had it for 2 days, then put the stock one back. It sucked. To make the shifts even shorter, it uses a sort of tension/springloaded-type of metal that made gear changes easy... but not consistent.

Going from 1st to 2nd... easy.Going from 3rd to 4th... easy.Going from 2nd to 3rd... crap.

Going from up and down motion to sideways is awful. At least with the one I got. And, honestly, it wasn't THAT much faster. It served no purpose, whatsoever. I don't drag my car, and even if I did, I think the difference from the stock shifter to the short one isn't worth it. 0,004 seconds is NOT the difference between winning and losing.
