this is a question for those who have a B&M short shifter installed in their car, or someone who's felt one. im just curious of how dramatic the difference is in the throw length. im looking into buying a shifter, but the main purpose is to replace the soft weird feeling of the stock one for a more solid feel. i have felt a b&m in a 2002 celica 6 speed before, and the throws were obsurdly short, which is what i definitly do not want. are there any other shifters or parts that you guys would suggest that would fit what im looking for?

if your looking for a solid feel, NOTHING beats the b&m. period. i wouldnt say the throw is horrendously short either. but night and day over stock. you wont be dissapointed if you buy this.

hey thanks for the input guys. maximus the videos were really helpful. im still debating whether or not to i would like the shortened throws, since im more into driving turns than doing straights, so alot of heel toe and up and down shifting is required, so maybe the notchiness might be a bad thing. and the stock shifter hasnt been too bad for me, just sometimes the thing annoys me with how loose it is with its side to side movement.

i'm definitely gonna get the b&m because i cant stand how rediculously long the throw is on the stock shifter. its even longer than my accord.

as a second option you could just try replaceing the stock bushing that is at the end of the stock shifter inside the transmition, Id imagine it is pretty chewed up and could get you back to that stock feel. Im in the same boat as you Ive been debating about a B&M for a while, I want something neater feeling but am worried the B&M will be too notchy and stiff...

Get a C's then. Not as notchy as the B&M, pretty comparable to the B&M's throw distance (albiet a bit longer).

i think your thinking more of hondas there, ours dont really have anything like that. its just a little white plastic bushing on the very end of the shifter

The B&M feels great- I want to know the gear was acchieved when I shift- some tactile feedback if you will- if you guys are calling that feeling notchy, then so be it. The B&M is one of my favorite mods so far- and I can't imagine any driving situation that it does not excel in. Period. Get one- it rocks.

great investment too, you'll use it so much it'll be well worth. stiffins the shabby stock feel right up (B&M has springs)

Group buy anyone???

Did yours come with the shift knob??? I have been on a manhunt trying to find a vendor that might sell them with the knobs still. I love that damn thing!
