A great resource for Nissan Sentra, Infiniti G20, 200sx, Pulsar, NX1600, NX2000, Tsuru, Primera and Sunny owners.

I have an 01 sentra se with a b&m short shifter and now my shifter bushings are gone. I have been looking at the obx short shift rods and they look like they have bearings instead of the bushings?? Is that correct and if so can i use that rod in the b&m setup? Like just swap out the shift rod and put the obx one with bearings in it instead of the stupid b&m one with the bushings ? Just curious guys

ThanksJosh

Post pics of both, I'm not sure I follow what you're saying.

How did you kill the bushings? I've had my B&M for several years now and have never had a problem...

I don't see anything that looks like a bearing instead of a bushing. I see a rod, a weight, and a cylinder for the bushing.

Regardless, if it will hook in to the shift linkage hook underneath the car, I don't see why you couldn't use it.

Aha, now I see what you're saying.

If the diameter is the same and you can get it out of that chamber and into your shifter's chamber, I think that would work quite well. In fact, it'll probably help with shift feel too. I wonder if they sell those bearings alone...

Hey I got that same exact shifter a while back and had the same issue. I just tapped that bushing out and stuck the stock one in. worked perfectly. give it a try if you havn't worked it out already.

sorry, i read through this after i posted. You're trying to use this bushing I see. the reason I punched mine out was because the hole in the middle was too small and the stock bolt wouldn't fit it. so I replaced it with the stock part. I wished I could have used it though cuz I thought the same thing as you... smooth and stuff.oh well it works fine
