I just installed the OBX short shifter as the instructions said.It keeps popping out of reverse and 5th gear-the right side is hard to shihft into-otherwise it works beautifully 1st-4th gears.I am missing the wave washer-this couldnt be it could it?PS I have tried adjusting the looseness-it even pops out whenit is loose or tight.

PLEASE HELP ME!!!

I recommend pulling out the shifter and re installing... make sure you followed the instructions and didn't leave out any bushings... for reference find official OBX/Pilot short shifter install guide...

yea do what FrEaK says. if its like mine, it didnt come with directions. go to the 240sx.org installs section and there is a great page on install of the pilot shifter, its almost exactly the same as obx. i used this and mine works perfect.

...then realise you get what you pay for.just a thought. You also might want to super glue the two halves of the shifter together..if not it'll probably come apart on you.-chet(yeah I know it wasnt constructive....)

No actually it was very constructive, i was going to mention it but it slipped my mind... are you sure super glue will be effective? I though a couple beads of weld woulf work better..

Not to get too far off subject, but has anybody tried the B&M short shift kit for the 240sx. I always see it advertised on the Enjuk racking site. The say it's great, but I don't know of anybody that has tried the model designed for the 240sx. Any thoughts?

It's very good... however it has a little more vibration and noise that eminates from it...

I love mine, but I warn eveyone about the noise. its a metal-on-metal shifter, its very precise and notchy feeling(race-car style) but its not "daily driver friendly" its got very short throws(good) but transmits gear noise and vibration much easier due to its construction.

I traded my pilot motorsports for the B+M and would never go back.-chet

Why wouldn't you go back? Because you like the race car feel better? or because your had problems with your other shifter?

Is there a less noisy shifter out there that still offers decent feel and throws, just maybe not as precise?

I like the precision and feedback provided by the B+M, its like a N-1 style suspension, its voerly harsh for many people, but I like it like that.

the NISMO shifter is a nice quality peice.-chet

its pretty expensive, last one I saw was 225 I think. Its sooo worth it to have a solid-peice shifter though, and its still retains the sound/vibration deadining abilities becuase of the nylon bushings/insulation.-chetan no, the yodnt have a "site" check http://www.japanparts.comhttp://www.jspec.comand courtesy nissan or even heavy throttle for miscelany.

I never understood why they don't make a website... the amount of business they would generate would be staggering...

probably because its supposively a dealer-only thing. Kind of like how you cant just buy certain products without going through an "authorised" distributor. you cant buy REDLINE oil directly...things like that. I would like to see a company start up and have all the 240sx parts cataloged, courtesy has got a lot..but is missing a ton of parts also.-chet
