short shifter drop in

how exactly would i do a short shifter swap? i heard you have to losen a tranni mount or somthing? there a write up on it?

ok depending on which short shifter you have you can just remove your shifter (its a c-clip use needle nose pliers) or if you have a B&M style there are six bolts your take off you'll see them its really not hard its just kinda scary to think about you don't have to drop your trans or anything just pull off your center console and the shift knob, boot, and rubber boot. I'll try to take pics of mine tomorrow my roommate stole my camera again so i'll snap some of mine tomorrowi just need to know which kind you have and i can make you a how too

thanks man. i gotta V2 ss off of phase2motortrend.comi had asked one of my buddys and hes a nissan guy so he knows what hes talking about most of the time. and he said taking off the trans mount? so im just double checking. because the top left bolt on the plate is like impossible to get to so. Thanks alot

that bolt is possible to get to, it just takes a LOT of short turns with a wrench.

what would be the best way to get to it. from the top or the bottom?

oh thats the easy one just get green on it with your fingers and hit the threads with some pb blaster to lube it up then tighten with your fingers till you cant anymore then use a ratcheting box end wrench to finish them off thats what i did

I think that would all be in personal preference. I went in from the top because I didn't think all the trouble of jacking the car up and all was worth it. It really doesn't take that long to install anyways.
