2 10mm nuts

Be careful when takign them out, as it will snap out (due to pressure in the tensionor)

Put new one in, along with new gasket. Remember to squeeze it together, and make sure you swing tht little hook thing to keep it compressed. Spin the motor by hand backwards once, and the tensioner will snap into place.

nice. just once backwards from the crank pulley. will i hear the tensioner snap open and creat tension? or do i just assume it clicked into place?

You don't have to rotate the motor very far to make the tensioner release. I usually only have to roll it over a few degrees.

I would be warry of using silicon in place of the o-ring. a new one is fairly inexpensive and can be bought for a sentra.

Hehe truth....in my head I was thinking a single pull of a big ratchet, not an entire crank revolution hehe.

i just had my motor rebuilt and the guy that did it for me didnt happen to read that part in the shop manual, where you crank it back a few degrees til it pops off the hook. he just popped the clip with a screwdriver after he put it in. now theres some noise in the head. any way could that be why?
