Well i feel i need to get a larger TB frist, sense all the work i have done it feels like i just cant get enough air in. the CAI is just for fun, sense i am going to upgrade to turbo in about a year. i just want to learn more, and the best way to do that is to get your hands dirty.

I am thinking about cold air and i was at the audio store and town and they had this 3 inch piping that was flexible but hard plactic, it was jl audio flex port. IT is exspensive but i can get it at cost so i think i am going to try that

A series of pics from my 90.

My hood is also cowled in the middle by the body lines where as it is raised about 2.75 inches. All of this in the persuit of cool under hood.

I use the factory air tube but I use a real Cold Air Intake. Not some 150 dollar tube from AEM or whom ever. I took the air temp sensor and installed in the tube.

Since the pics... I have put a small filter on the AIV to let it move air. I have also used weather stripping to seal off the box. The intake sucks only outside engine bay air now.

I am sorry that I bent the hood by the light... that is kinda of a "no goin back mod". I plan to straighten that back out.

I hope my mods offer some motivation for you guys to try this stuff yourselves. Unfortunately, I give an ish about looks and concentrate on performance.

thats pretty similar to what I am thinking of doing only on the other side of the engine bay-after relocating the battery to the trunk

I agree. I have a part or two to test the dyno and then I will build on of those short intakes and try it... On my Spec V the short ram intake made 6 more hp on the DynoJet than the Cold-Air did, so I'm curious to see what it will do on the 240SX.

the only problem with a dyno is the car isn't moving.

But that means the shorter pipe works better than the longer pipe.. Ambient air temp was probably very similar for both tests.

In my case with the 240SX, I'm going to try the stock length pipe vs. the short ram pipe, neither with a cold-air extension.

The only way to really test that cold air thoery is to go to the 1/4 mile strip.
