1. How do you tell if a 2006 G35x has Premium Package by looking at photos of a car for sale? I have been looking out for the "Dual" button on the climate control or an Intelligent Key ignition. Is there a better method?

Most sellers don't list PP, even when their cars have them, and ironically list the options that ALL G35s have, such as CC, AC, PL, PW, PS, etc.

2. What can be the explanation behind this car's history? Are there states which dont report titles or title changes to carfax? Or was this a dealer car or loaner which was never titled?

I think wood trim requires PP, so wood trim is a good sign in that respect (but it's rare to come across wood tirm).

I guess my rules of thumb will be:

Bluetooth / dual AC / Bose / power tilt - should mean it has at least PP A

Intelligent key - should mean it has PP B or C

That's how I looked when I was shopping "long-distance." There was usually one picture that would show this and be a nice distinguishing factor.

However, there would always be those ads that didn't show it and I would have to ask. The responses would always range from an exact repeat of the paragraph in the ad ("this vehicle is a premium vehicle with all options"), to 'let me check on that but repeat the ad for you.' Ummm...know what you're selling!

Exactly. These ads publish a laundry list of "options" - most of which are simply standard on all Gs (and most other cars in this range) - yet they neglect to mention or highlight the few things that can actually distinguish their car from the rest...

Always frustrating! Those rear vents can be good little indicators though...plus all other items mentioned from these other posters. Full-size spare is always a good one too.

Forget the salesmen...they don't know their-ahh forget it I'll stop there.

what do you guys think about question 2: is this a dealership loaner or could there be another explanation?

I've looked at a lot of carfax's while used car shopping and have never seen one like that!I would ask the Infiniti service to check the service records that they have.If it's not at an Infiniti dealer, call one with the VIN
