Okay, so I'll be ordering a set of Sparco seats in about a week,(just saved up enough money) and next I need a cage for the harnesses. I'll be gutting the interior for weight loss and later switching to frp/acrylic doors/hatch. I'm really just looking for outside opinions on what to look for. Bolt in or weld? Could I buy a bolt in and weld it anyway? Would I be gaining anything at all by welding? Any brand to avoid or look for?
Thanks in advance!

Weld, and find a local shop to do it for you, all custom. IMHO, it's the best way.

DERP! The thought hadn't even crossed my mind. Just searched for a shop, found one a couple miles away and already got an estimate over the phone! Thanks man.

Some pics of my old car. Killer cage made by a guy who specializes in sprint cars in CT. Made the car super stiff and only added about 35lbs, IIRC. Considering all the weight reduction, you'll still be negative for weight, with huge gains in safety and stregth.
