im looking around now for a new clutch. mien will slip at the track when i launch, and thats the only time. with a strong clutch i think i could be in the 12's. first my power goals are most likely going to be around/above 400rwhp now. i have a couple of options

act xtreme kit - they offer it with a street disc rated to 330ft lbs or a 6 puck race disc rated to 420ft lbs. now i would jsut go with this and the 6 puck but it says its a race disc, does this mean its unsrpung and would suck for daily driving?

spec disc/act xtreme pp - jsut thought of this today. i have a brand new spec stage 3 disc in my room. i could just buy a act xtreme pp so i would have a sprung disc, or i could buy a spec stage 5 pp

white bunny special - this would be a 240mm flywheel from a nissan truck vs. 225mm 240 flywheel. with this i can use a 280z turbo clutch. act heavy duty with street disc is rated at 400ft lbs and heavy duty with 6 puck rated at 510ft lbs. downside to this is i wont have my lightweight flywheel anymore. althoug this will offset the cost alot since i can sell my fidanza with a brand new friction surface. i have heard from many people of the 240mm act street disc holding 500 whp with slicks for a while

what is your opinion

Or you could test my "custom" clutch in a higher HP app... I know it's working on mine but I only had 200HP tops. No need to buy a new flywheel, just resurface and redrill the stock one. You could always use a Nissan 240mm aftermarket clutch disk and/or pp if you don't like my saw disk idea :pface

And if you're worried about loosing the lightened flywheel... you could sell that and buy one like the white bunny had custom made.

i dont really want to test anything out.

looks like i might go with the xtreme pp with street disc. after searching some more i found that jay (psi240sx) was using it on his 412 rwtq ka running 11.9 with slicks. thats good enough for me.

You could always resurface and redrill your stock flywheel to use any proven Nissan 240mm app. But I guess you wanna keep your lightened flywheel.... keep us posted

I bought a centerforce clutch and I'm really impressed by the design and quality of the pressure plate. I think I might like a more aggressive disc but I haven't had the chance to drive on the one I got. its full face organic.

I bought my clutch from a local shop who makes their own clutches. They seem to know what they are talking about. I have the regular DXD clutch which is good for double the torque. It still has the feel of a stock clutch too. I have done 3 drift practices and much more and I have never had it slip. I believe I paid 300 cash and they resurfaced my flywheel for free too. I have a little more than 3000 miles on it and it is still grabbing harder everyday. The clutch did take about 350-500 miles to break in though. Here is their website so you can check them out. Nick

i wouldnt mind losing the light flywheel too much since it will offset the cost alot and could have a few other benefits. if i was to pick up a stock flywheel can i jsut drop it off at a machine shop to have it resurfaced and drilled/tapped? how much would this cost about? my uncles does have a performance machine shop but they would prolly take weeks to get this done since they are so backed up.

i still think i will just go with a act xtreme seems to be the best bet

Well... I took my stock flywheel and the 240mm truck pp to the machine shop and I said: "Need to resurface this (FW) completely and be able to screw this (PP) into this (FW)"

They resurfaced then measured out the pp, drilled new holes for the pp bolts into the fw and moved the little retainer on the fw to it's new location. Took them about 1 day to do it... cause they were backed up. It runned me $36, including a second trip to the machine shop to have the contact surface resurfaced another 3mm to have the diaphragm lay completely horizontal once the pp was installed.

I'm pretty sure that it won't cost you that in the US, but it never hurts to ask.

Just want to give you more options , so you may debate on it for couple more days and loose sleep over it and... :pface I know I did

also, I had a thread on this a while ago. I got all the specifications for the sr20 clutch and it uses a 240mm everything and the same diameter, same spline, and all that. I have been wanting to try one, I'm pretty sure it would be the same as the truck, but no one has. And the sr20 has **** loads of every kind of clutch you would ever want for it, from twin carbon disc to full face organic.

I'm pretty sure all stock and aftermarket 240mm nissan clutch discs and pp are interchangeable. I know the 300zx and truck ones are and from our previous discussion the SR20 seems to be true also.
