Looking to throw some money into my 94 NA Z that's clean as f*** especially on the inside for those who have seen. thinking of buying a new 98+ transmission and single piece driveshaft and clutch and flywheel since i will have to. My trany is fine other then the common 3,4 gear synchros which really stood out the other day when i was driving hard but not normally an issue. Or the other idea is airbag strut setup and fix some of the control arms in the front with worn out bushings. Now the airbag idea sounds so much cooler and showable, but brand new trany and 1 piece will last the life of the car. Or i could redo my kitchen but who the f*** wants to do that. Thanks

Personal opinion: I am wholly opposed to any air suspension on a performance car, yes I know they make "performance' bags but they are still bags and make that car handle like a lazy-boy on caster on the deck of fishing boat in 15 foot seas. So I would say go driveline update. The car will feel more connected and put together at the least.

Second these comments, although I'd go cat on rollerskates chased by a dog for air suspension handling. The air simply doesn't have the density to create the effect needed for proper suspension action and mainly relies on stiffer springs. Personally I'd say that proper coilovers that have later been set up by a suspension shop (there's a place I can't recall in Seattle) would FAR exceed anything the air could do, and for fractions of the cost of fabbing air suspension into a Z32.
Personally though I'm not a fan of the 1 piece drive shafts, no real reason to do so other than losing some weight in our sturdy beasts which means nothing if you aren't seriously doing that elsewhere and often. The car was meant for the 2-piece shaft and a new/repaired one with new u-joints will be perfectly connected, and definitely won't have the common out of balance problem most 1-piece have/will have.
As for the trans I'm not sure the costs of having synchros replaced, which is the only benefit you'll get from a new trans at seemingly a higher cost. I'd bet replacement from a trans rebuilder is less than half the cost of a new trans, or those guys wouldn't be in business.

That's my 2 cents, have fun and Good Luck!
