95 240 sxrear end is all over the place on bumps..my car wants to slide out of control!!i need new shocks... probably springs.. etc..so i priced them at a local shop and deffinately not cheap..plus you need a special tool to compress the springs etc to install them( i hate having shops work on my car)soooo...im thinking just suck it up and buy some coilovers or somethingpay a bit more but get somethign that much better that i can install my selfthat has some adjustability, possibly lower the car an inch or so etc...

i have no delusions of grandure about drifting or anything like thatthis is just my street/play car that i want to slowly turn into what i wantand im all about best bang for my buck. This is not a show car, it does not need to have the best of everything to put a smile on my face

So what are my cheap to mid range options for a complete and quality setup...

a quick look at EGay has TEIN HA 16 WAY COILOVER KIT for $679, not sure on the shippingTOKICO DSPEC ADJ STRUTS SHOCKS $498 delivered does not include springsKYB AGX ADJUSTABLE STRUTS/SHOCKS SET $419.99 delivered does not include springs

Please let me know what you think about any of these, or of cheaper or better setups etc..

thanks

Koren

you could do a spring/strut combo and just rent a spring compressor. autozone will even loan you one for free.

or you could get a basic coilover setup, but you would get pretty stiff springs and they're overkill unless you race or drift the car.

fyi, you shouldn't need new springs unless yours are actually broken, unlikely, or you want to lower the car.

the agx have 4 (for the front) and 8 (for the rear) stiffness settings, i just got these along with sportline lowering springs... they feel so much better after worn 15 year old suspension... anyway, i have no remorse for buying these

I had the GR2 on my car when I bought it, I thought it was stock untill I got under there...They are generaly though of as oem replacement, but are slightly stiffer iirc. Coilover might not be the best choise depending on were you live. Unless you live in an area with very good roads even 8/6 is probably too stiff to keep the tires on he road. We have pretty nice roads were I live, but on the outskirts and back roads some of them arent so great, you defenetly can feel the car skip some times. If you mainly are worried about grip for every day driving you might see more benifits from a good stiff pair of springs with properly match shocks then coilovers.
