Help please......I have a 2001 SE with 132000 miles. A great reliable car. With the mileage the car isn't as tight as she used to be but lately I notice the car just crashes over pot holes, pavement joints, etc. I took it into a shop and they told me the shocks were fine......isn't there struts on this car? What else can I do to tighten her up?Thanks

Struts on the front, shocks in the rear.

You could go with after market shocks/struts/springs. If you're getting a lot of roll on turns, get a front strut tower bar, or get some Energy Suspension end link and sway bar bushings.

Shocks/struts are generally a term that's used interchangeably, don't worry about schematics. :p

If you have more than 50k on the struts currently on there now I'd replace 'em at all four corners, they're probably worn. I've very rarely seen outright strut failure on Maximas (e.g. worn to the point of leaking), so a mechanical diagnosis-- strictly speaking-- would say they're still fully functional...
