ive been looking around locally for a s chassis of some sort, but in Alaska, these things are impossible to find, so ive started to save my money to get one shipped from the "lower 48". other than craigslist window shopping, im not sure if i want to buy one and get it shipped, or buy one and hope that it will make the drive from the states, through canada, and back home. the drive would be an adventure of a lifetime, but will it be easier to ship?

Shipping it from the lower 48 might be an expensive process. Your options are to truck it through Canada, and I'm not sure what the processing fees are going over the borders. You could drive it through, or take the ferry from Washington.
