So was wondering if anyone else had this problem. Is it the nature of the 1999 Q45t 17 inch wheels?I live right off the highway and when I first get on and up to 70mph I get a shimmy like the wheels are out of balance but after 10-15 minutes it seems to go away????

Anyone??

ThanksGM991

I've experienced this also. My bet is that it is related to the temp of the tires. Cold rubber is not very pliable and so might ride harsher. My dad told me that in Minnesota winters, tires would sometimes "freeze" and would thump terribly until warm. Just a thought.

my 95 had a similar issue and it was upper control arm bushings, took some time for them to seat themselves when worn. replaced and all good

Michelins use of exotic expensive [a few dollars more per tire] materials minimizes this memory effect.

In the same class of tire [speed rating] in the same size you will see that a Michelin has less vibration from sitting cold overnight and what vibration there is, goes away sooner.

The above is a major internal goal to be best in class.........why cheap nylon and other hard setting compounds are never used.

I once experienced a similar problem on my Y33, It turned out the front tire pressure Dropped alot during our flash cold front one night. dropped like 15 psi on all 4 tires.

filled them back up, and im riding smooth again!
