alrighty, my FULLY built Ka24de motor is almost ready, but the shop i took it to claims that i need new buckets and shims to compensate for a clearance issue with my cams/valves.

i have a pair of 272 turbo cams with supertech valves, dual valvesprings, and seats, etc

Should i need new shims with this set up?

above are the links to the parts i bought for the head.If somneone could point me in the right direction or just provide any usefull information at all it would be splendid. I know next to nothing when it comes down to the little things such as this in motors. thanks for your time and your vast knowledge nico community : )

dont need new buckets unless they need replacing due to wear or improper scoring.

Shim adjustment will be needed. 90% of the time we did them in house, we reuse the stock ones but just placed them in different locations to make up for the adjustments. There have been only a couple times we had to go to Nissan and buy new shims for the sizes we were missing.

your head setup is the exact setup we are using on our Time Attack Car...I think you will happy with the results. Our car pulls very nice on the dyno up to 7800rpm with no power drop.

i use the BC stage 3 cams..272's...you may have to clearence the bucket area's so the cam can rotate properly..and you will have to change shims around...best way to get shims is to visit a junk yard and look for maximas..and grab a bunch from several different cars..they wont charge you much for a good size handfull so get a bunch...mike em out and do a little math to clearence then properly...number them acording to position on the head..and replace..good luck

I only change out shims or buckets if the aftermarket cam manufacturer calls out for buckets or shims. Most cams fall within OEM tolerance.Shim adjustments for larger valves sounds like B.S to me.
