Alright So the other night I tried to move the 240 out of the garage to let it run for a few minutes to check for leaks. Well I couldnt get it to go into gear. The slave cylinder is a new one from McKinney and I bled the system pretty good. So I thought maybe the Master cylinder was bad, it was only 18 bucks so I replaced that yesterday and bled the system for like 20mins and no change. So what could be the problem here. I am gonna get a different bleeder screw today because that seems to leak a little unless i really really tighten it. But not too hopeful on that one. Any ideas are appreciated.

im gonna try to do this from memory so dont take everything as 100% accurate.

all of this takes place under the dash.

the master cylinder rod comes through the firewall then goed into a threaded U bracket that then wraps around the clutch pedal. there is a nut (possibly 2, dont remember) on the threaded rod on the master cylinder

you basically loosen the 1(2) nuts then grab the rod with a pliers and rotate it.

adjust the pedal till you have about .25-.75 inches of free play before you feel pressure.

*disclaimer* with an aftermarket clutch you may have to adjust the pedal to outside that range of adjustment but it varies by clutch. just adjust till everything is smooth when you drive and are stopped.

hmm i was kinda playing with that today. I moved it back a little ways (bringing the pedal up a little bit) with no change. Maybe tomorrow I will moved the pedal the other way a bit.

Its so wierd I have bled and bled the system and I can not get the car into any gear with the car running. Everytime i try to push it into gear its like the clutch is still engaged and the car will start moving forward. When I push the clutch pedal it feel like there is pressure and would be disengaging the clutch but its not. I really really really hope I dont have to drop the transmission out but its looking like I might have to .

Thanks for your help thus far.

it sounds like you just need to adjust it. just in your free time play with the adjustment and see were you like it. if the clutch is bad you will be able to leave the car in gear let off the clutch and it will stay running. does it go into gear when the car is off?

Ya it will go into gear with it off. Yesterday we dropped the transmission out and checked to make sure I put the clutch in right and that the throwout bearing was in place and from what we could tell that was all correct. So today I am gonna bleed the line some more and play with the clutch pedal. ...So close to being done but yet so far.

Now should the slave cylinder be pushing the fork as far as it can go. right now the slave is only pushing the fork to the middle of area that the fork is in....if that makes sense. haha

put your car in gear, put the clutch in, leave yourself some room in the front, and try to start the car. if your car lurches forward then your slave isnt throwing far enough

or if you want to be safe, just leave the car off, put it in gear and step on the clutch. try to roll the car and see if your clutch is even separating.

Ya I took out that stupid Dampener many moons ago haha.

And yes i accidently started it one day with the transmission in 1st and the car rolled forward so the clutch is not disengaging. I didnt have time tonight to mess with so it will have to wait til tomorrow....another evening of bleeding the line haha, oh well must be done.
