Shifting in 240sx

alright well when we seem to be shifting when we get just about redlined in the 240 it seems to slow down alot, why is it doing this?also it seems as if we shift about 5000 to 5500 rpm its quicker, also thats how it was in my mustang also just wondering if you guys had any pointers. its a 92 dohc se also

It might have something to do with max tq. there was athread around here about shift points and it was brought up.
