If you should ever spill a soda on your shifter and then one day you find it hard to shift out of park...it's the soda. I had a Mt Dew freeze in my cup holder and overflow onto my shifter. Getting out of park is terrible now. The fix!!!...Shop cleaner in a can!! You have to remove some center console pieces to get a clear shot but once you get there it is easy. Most likely the piece that is causing the hard shift out of park is the shift lock solenoid. It the unit that makes that click sound when you step on the brakes while in park. Spray that thing out good and work it with both your hand and the brake pedal. I speak from expierence as I haven't had a smooth shift out of park in about 2 months and I got sick of it. Lesson learned first hand and now passed on to you guys.

Thank you! Mine is clicking when stepping on the brake while in park. I've spilled coffee all over ( dropped the cup when a van cut me off on the freeway ). Again, thanks for the info!

I had surgery in 2001 for a hernia. Over the last month the scar where they cut me has been getting more and more sore. I went to see the doctor on wednesday and they are sending me to see the surgeon on monday. All I know is I hurt in that area and I am seeing the surgeon. Who knows what I did to myself.
