I bought the car with the problem. The shifter has a lot of slop (like in gear it feels like its out of gear). I don't think the bushing is even in the transmission. I got a B&M shifter, but before I install it I figured I should order a new bushing to go into the transmission. What is the part number for the bushing? Does the KA bushing work in the SR transmission? Any good aftermarket ones? I heard about a cusco brass one or something, anyone know where to get that? Thanks...

just try installing the b@m. it has a bushing that is on the end of the input shaft that goes into the transmission. the stock shifters for both models had alot of slop to them. thus the freeway dance(shifter dancing from side to side). put the b&m in and it should reduce most if not eliminate all of that. least thats what id did on mine

thanks, I just talked to the previous owner (sleepin240) and he said that the bushing that goes in the transmission was missing......does anyone know what part that is? Its REALLY bad like 3-4 INCHES of slop EACH way when in gear. Seriously the worst shifter I've ever felt.
