Hopefully this is all Im thinking it is and not the transmission itself...

There is a rattle sound coming from what I think is the shifter rod and bushings?
It sounds like thats where it is coming from, im not 100% positive anyone else had a similar issue?

by the way this is the stock shifter

best to get a short shifter and bronze bushings?

Alright this sounds got worse today after driving for awhile, after having to drive through a big a** puddle in an intersection last night on my way to work..

it sounds like a rock bouncing in between metal, I looked under and it seems like it is coming from directly under the shifter in this plate with holes all through it.

the back part of this plate looks like it might be loose, think this could be the problem?
any idea what this plate is called and would it be safe to take it off and check for a pebble or any sort of debris? ...yeah i need a splash guard

that "plate" is a heatshield, if the exhaust is tweaked or the heatshiled si bent they could contact and rattle, if the car still has factory exhaust there si additional heatshield ont he pipes that can rust loose and rattle
