i bought a short shifter and its been on for about 6 months. now when i shift from 1st to 2nd, i checked the clutch fluid and went back to my stock shifter and it makes a grindin noise every time i shift from 1st to 2nd. i think it could be my syncros. any way to adjust those?? thanks!

nope, they are inside the transmission. They are these funny gears that make sure the gears line tooth to tooth when you shift. There is no adjustment because all they do is wear down, throw some BG syncro shift in there if you do not have the money to fix it right now and pray it hold long enough, or just go 1rst to 3rd.

A transmission fluid change could help. I'd recommend Red Line or Royal Purple.

There's another member, punkrocker7788 is having a similar problem. His car shifts fine with stock shifter, but it grinds with short shifter. idk...

Try these also.

1. Flush and bleed the system2. Adjust 30631. Mine did the same thing after the swap, but found out this bracket needed to be adjusted. Slave cylinder needed 1-2mm more to push.

I got a little bit of a grind with stock shifter going 1st -> 2nd, but it hasn't done that since I put a short shifter in. All I get now is a steady "whirring" from the shifter when engaged.

I hear more noise now with manual transmission. My drivetrain was quiter with auto transmission. Well, I don't expect much from 14 years old car with 11-12 years old used manual transmission. I'm just glad that I have manual transmission.

Before my stereo got jacked the easy fix to all the whirrs clanks whistles and whatnot was simply turn up the bass Now, not so much. It is eerily peaceful now....
