ok i would like to first say that yes i have already searched 3 forums in fact so please dont be ignorant and tell me to search. Frst is that i bought an after market shifter but i can quite figure it out i have the shifter and everything in with the spacer and wave washer under neath but there i snothing holding it down from the top, the other plastic piece that came with it is too small to fit down over the top??? Secondly I just did a 5speed swap and so far everything is good, but i cant get my key out of the ignition? I did not unplug the green box i left it pluged in and bolted to the fender well????? any thoughts?

you left the green box in the footwell attached? it used to be bolted to the hole that the top of the clutch pedal bracket goes to. That's the box that ends up telling the lock cylinder to hold the key in.

Second, check the fuse labeled "shift lock" It has a tendency to blow when wires in the cabin get manhandled.

i dont know if this will help but i know there should be a switch on the clutch to tell the car it is pushed in which normally allows you to start the car.

well i finnaly said F#$%K it and cut the bushing so i could slide it over te top of the ball and she is all in there now.as for the key can i just take the lock mechanisim off it looks like a white plastic enclusure on the side of the lock cylinder, can i just take it off to get my key out, because it broken and i have to use a screwdriver and push on this little pin in there to get it out?
