Shifter not engaging gears!!!!

Dunno what happened. I had my car towed the other day and now my shifter isnt working anymore... The shifter goes into every gear with ease but the car doesnt move at all. It just stays in neutral. Im shifting gears with the shifter but its not actually putting the car into the gears!

Anyone have any clue whats going on??

Difficult problem to diagnosis in a forum. But, if as you said the problem is associated with a tow, I would look to see if the output from the transmission is in fact turning and the driveshaft is not, or the differential. Not sure if a completely destroyed center bearing on the driveshaft would allow for one half of the driveshft to rotate and the other half not to rotate.
