Don't laugh, but how do I get the damn thing off?

I heard it was glued down. You will have to use alot of strength or get a towel and wrap it around the knob and use a wrench. Drive the car for a good 30 mins to warm up the glue a bit then try.

You need to crank on it to get it off.....it's glued on there pretty good. Just bust out the muscles or a pair of vice grips. It will feel like somethings breaking or bending, but keep turning until it breaks free.

I just took hold of the knob at the very top and twisted hard with both hands, after about a second of full tension it broke loose.

I'm 140 lbs soaking wet, if I can do it with bare hands, anyone can.

Yeah, I just didn't want to force it till I was sure I wasn't going to break anything.
