shifter help

i have a 2001 LE Nissan Pathfinder and it runs great except for when i put it in park. the button that you push on the shifter sticks and i have to beat on it for a couple minutes to get it to go back in and i was wondering if there is anything i can do to fix it cuz it bugs me bad

Take it apart and lube up the mechanisms!

Just had the same problem and found the solution on the forum.

The fuse for the taillights also controls the shift lock. Sure enough I blew a fuse pulling my trailer. Swapped that out and was good to go.

I guess i'll have to keep a box of 10amp fuses in the glovebox

You know, if it's wired properly and everything's working right it shouldn't pop fuses. At all.
