Shift solenoid took a dump and...O/D? WTF?

Hey guys, I've put off replacing the shift lock solenoid on my '04 Pathfinder for as long as I could and now it's completely dead...so I'm gonna buy a new one, replacement is easy enough...but now my O/D off button is dead? I took the shifter shroud off and the only electrical I disconnected was the connector at the rear of the panel for 12v to the ashtray light. So what just happened? Freak coincidence that both died at the same time or is there something more sinister here, like a relay that controls both? I looked through the fuse box and relay panels and couldn't find anything relating to the O/D switch, so I'm guessing it's not fused/run through a relay, but....anyone else had both die? Brake light switch is good, already checked the power there.... Thanks for any input anyone can give..

The '04 has LEDs in all the warning light spots, so the bulb can't be dead. Does the O/D off light illuminate with the ignition set to ON? If it does not, please try following the diagnostic procedure on page AT-218 of the FSM.
