Hi there. The shift rod in my Auto 1992 240sx HB is stuck, so I am able to move the shifter without stepping on the brake. Right now if you were driving at like 60 MPH you could just throw the shifter into reverse and grind the *hit out of the transmission. I opened up the shifting console and was able to manually put the rod up, so that it locks correctly, but when I press the lever to shift, the rod goes down and sticks again. I tried WD-40 and what not, but it still sticks. Is there some sort of spring that pushes the rod back up?
Has anyone experienced this before? Any fixes for this?
