I basically cant put my car in first gear...and second gear is very hard....the slave cylinder is not leaking and the master cylinder is brand new...clutch fluid is holding up fine...I even readjusted the clutch pedal...i rebled the slave cylinder as well and had some air come out but it didnt do anything..but has anyone heard of bypassing the master cylinder line straight to the slave cylinder line?

The pedal would be harder than a rock, you wouldn't be able to depress it.

if you mean bypassing the damper block, it can be done. You need a bracket of some kind to act as an anchor for where the hard line and soft line meet.

My car doesn't have the damper block (was excluded when the Sr and 5 speed went in). The pedal is a bit harder to depress, but it isn't hard as a rock. Just feels firmer.

If it were in fact a faulty master or slave, then the problem would be uniform among all of the gears. You're problem almost sounds like bad synchros. Do 3rd, 4th and 5th gears shift fine?

do ya have a new short shifter in it?If thats the case then ya prob need to break in the nylon bushing for a little while, then again it might be worn syncros which needs a transmission rebuild to fix, could also be the gear oil your using too,ya running 75-90 weight in it?Ya could should bleed a little more too and see what happens......I was thinking maybe syncros because you say 4th and 5th are easy to select into,I remember in my DSM I had a worn second gear syncro but after I drove for a few blocks and got her lubed up she was just fine........So go ahead and bleed it some more, drive around for a bit and let us know how it goes so far.
