Go out and drive your car. You can feel when the engine pretty much torques out. It'll differ to what kind of driving you're trying to do
If you're drag racing it, then you're probably power shifting, and then you want to shift so there's some room between your revs and redline for that second where you're on the gas in neutral.
If you're drifting, it really depends on the kind of entry you're doing, because you want to control how much wheel spin you want when you let off the clutch.
If you're auto-xing, you want it pretty high up, but you want to avoid having it disturb the car and potentially lose control or over/understeer
