Where is the signal wire I would need to tap into if I installed a shiftlight?

The last shift light in installed was simply sourced off a 12 volt ignition wire. Then you set it manually.

where do i find that ignition wire? ive read something about a white wire coming off the ecu, is this the same one you speek of?
