Ive trying to get the stock shift knob off but.....its not working.... is there a special trick to getting it off? thanks!-byung

Grip the knob tightly and turn it counter clockwise. Some knobs may have thread locker which can make it hard to remove. In that case. you need a channel lock or a round vise grip (12LC) to remove it. You may have to wrap a cloth or duct tape on the knob to prevent damage.

definitely wrap it in some thing...my stock knob now has teeth marks from a channel lock on it. ive been rocking a cheap ebay that looks like this:

except the one i purchased was actually threaded perfectly and has a nice weight to it. not bad for a few dollars, does get hot in the summer in cold in the winter, but what would you expect from a metal knob?

Good cheap replacement if you have a Mitsubishi dealer nearby.
