hey guys, since i got some spare money over the weekend, i decided to buy a shift knob and maybe a shift boot. My only problem is, I tried twisting my shift knob earlier but it wouldn't come off. The shop told me that a knob or something is loose so it won't come off. They said i'm gona have to cut it to be able to take it off. Now that is not a problem, my only problem is installing the new one. With this being said, would anyone give me a step by step instruction on how to install the new shift knob? also, any of you guys recommend any shift knob/boot? (i'm looking forward in spending less than $100 for everything) thanks in advance guys

How you install them differs from brand to brand but most just have a plastic sleve that threads on then you just put on the shift knob over the plastic pice tighten up the set / grub screws and your done.

Do you still have the stock shift knob? All the ones I've seen were screw on types. I have the Nismo GT shift knob and you screw it on and there's a screw on top that you tighten down to hold it in place.

You can get a custom made shift boot from Redline goods here on NICO. I believe they're a sponsor.

it takes a whole lot of effort to get the stock knob off. i destroyed the rubber on my old stock knob when i changed it.

also, why does this thread exist. it's a shift knob. if you can tie your shoes, you can change a shift knob.

I believe it was Yoda that once said "Difficult it is not. Righty-tighty, Lefty-loosey" or something like that
