i have a wooden shift knob which is peeling. what kind i do about it?is it easy to change ?it`s on a 2002 infiniti i35

It's pretty easy to change. It simply unscrews. It's generally on pretty tight, so you may want to wrap it in a towel and use a pair of pliers to break it loose initially.

Get one person with a towel and a pipe wrench to hold the otherside so you dont twist it around and twist other stuff off

well i slid the plastic ring down,but i can`t still get the knob off. is there any screws holding on or is it that hard to screw off? anybody with pics of how to do this? help!

Stock shift knobs are usually on very very tight. It will unscrew, though...just keep trying.
