shift knob problem....

well ive just bought another s13 fastback.....it has a leather shift knob....but i want to change it real bad....but the thing is that **** wont come out....i try to twist it off so hard that it feels like it's gonna break....anyone had this problem? or know how i get the knob out?

Yes, all s13's are like that. I took a vis grip, clamped it on the shift knob, nice little tug and vuala! off it comes!

If you wanna keep the shift know, wrap a towel around it, THEN use the vise grips to get it off. They are on there hellua tight!!

yes good point, sorry i forgot to mention that. Put a towel or t-shirt over it, thats what i did, still got it off!

and if that doesn´t do the trick you can saw it open along the lower end and it will pop off.
