Shift knob for 08 Spec-V

A great resource for Nissan Sentra, Infiniti G20, 200sx, Pulsar, NX1600, NX2000, Tsuru, Primera and Sunny owners.

So I searched the forum for anything about aftermarket/replacement shift knobs but couldn't come up with anything good. Has anyone found a decent replacement for the 08 spec v, with the reverse lockout? I called my local Nissan dealership and they can't find anything. (for information, they want $120CDN for the stock one) I checked all the usual suspects (nismo, everything nissan, etc) for compatible shift knobs but can't find anything for the newer Sentras.

I keep scratching the leather off the one side with either my nails or jewelry...not sure which. Either way, it's peeling on the one side now and I tend to pick at it on long drives

Suggestions anyone?

Try these guys, they should have compatible ones for your car.

Thanks for the replies.@bakerboard - Not so sure I want to super glue it on...but where did you get that shift knob?

@Faja - the twm site doesn't list the different models - not sure if it will fit my car. I guess I could call them...

There is an option to select "your vehicle" on the page, 05-08 Spec V is listed.

Oops...I must have been looking at a different one earlier that only had "Sentra" in the list. Thanks

TWM shift knob and short throw shifter is a great product. I have both and I like the feel for daily driving much heavier. I however have noticed that in spirited driving I prefer the lighter stock knob for much faster power shifts. I do not feel comfortable doing it with this shifter.

Up to you how you drive your car. The knob I have is cold as hell in the winter and hot as hell in the summer. But I like the large ball feeling and the aesthetics is perfect for the interior of the spec v.

Here are some bad pics.

I don't see anything on that page that says it's compatible with the reverse lock out...

?? That pretty much sums it up right there. That's what I have. The satin finish matches almost flawlessly to the silver paint used in the spec v's interior.

Hey Godofelru, did you try the knob with just a stock shifter? I have a 2.0S and was wondering if the heavier knob made a difference in the feel of the clutch or gears??

I have the Razo RA96A GT Advance knob from http://www.amazon.com/Razo-RA9...r=1-1

Its weighted and I really like the feel. It was a little tricky to get it on straight so the lock out ring doesn't rub. I didn't want an all metel knob because I thought it might be too cold in the winter.

No didn't try it with just the knob, I got it as a combined discount when I purchased them both.

Quick question, I just received and installed my TWM shift knob, but was wondering if you used loctite on the threads to prevent the knob from unscrewing.

I'd avoid Loctiting it on in the event that you want to change it. Just turn it til it's fairly tight and it won't spin around on its own.
