Shift interlock

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

Hey all,

Anyone else experienced an issue with the shift interlock? Mine appears intermittent as follows:

Press the brake
Hold for some period if time (like if I check my texts before shifting from Park but after starting the car and keep my foot on the pedal the whole time)
Shift button hits against the interlock.
Release and reapply the brake, issue solved.

Sometimes need to try the button several times in a row to get it to work.

Thoughts?

Thanks!

It happens to me once in a while, but quite infrequently. For me, I think it's because I'm sometimes a bit lazy or in a rush, and I'm not pushing the brake pedal down far enough.

I'd keep an eye on the brake switch first, as you do need to make sure those lights are always working. I believe that the switch can be adjusted as well. Hope this helps.
