The local Orillia Nissan dealer, Experience Nissan, has informed me that I need to replace the solenoid control valve assembly, according to TSB01-0155.
I'm hoping to do this myself since they want a pretty penny to replace the unit. I've worked on Chevrolet trannies years ago, but never a Pathfinder Trany, and have actually had little exposure to Nissan transmissions as far as internals go.
Anyway when looking at the FSM pg. AT-265 it outlines removing the control valve assembly. However I'm a little unclear as it mentions the valves are attached to the solenoids. Will they come out as one entire unit? How are these valves attached? Is there any special sealing required etc?
I also mentions in the FSM that the accumulator may need to be removed, which appear to essentially be 4 pistons. Will these also need to be replaced to rectify the shift flare issue?
Tech's could really use your help on this one.
The solenoid assy part number according to the TSB is 31940-41X15.
They also mentioned that the TCM may need to be replaced, but that is an under hood item according to the FSM so I'm not all that worried about it if I do need to replace it.
