you should find out about doing it in real leather too.

I had left over leather from when I put leather in my last 240...so I did up a shift boot, covered the dash with leather, and my ashtray.. didn't have enough for the rest >_<doh.

anyway..here is an idea of how it could look with leather =)

btw.. I am in no way trying to take business from you, since I am not offering to make these or sell them =)

the original shift boot = sux0r

goodluckand I would have used red thread if I had it at the time that I made mine.. oh well..

Hey, sorry to get off topic (I would buy a shift boot at that price had i not just had my sister sew me one up) but how hard was it to cover the dash trim peice with leather? That looks pretty damn good and it will cover up all the scratches on mine.

I'm not sure if you have worked with leather before..but it stretches really really nice :)

I sprayed down both pieces with glue, let them both become dry (not damp to the touch)started at one end, stretching as I went.... the bend on the side was the more difficult spot.I used a solid piece to cover it....then trimmed out the holes.I took pics of my entire leather installation..but not of that part.. doh!

it wasn't that hard though..just take your time if you try :)

well, I did all the work at my old work (AutoTrim design in port richey)

it was some industrial glue that came in a 5 gallon drum.

but any spray glue should work fine..3M makes some.

they sell it everywhere.. walmart, home depot, lowes, staples..etc.

hehe, i got impatient and by the time you posted your answer I had already bought a can and made my first attempt. I cut the "leather" (im using fake stuff) too small so now i have to do it right. Not at all hard just may take a couple times to do. Plus im using the same material that i made my shift boot out of so it should come out nice. Ill post pictures when its installed.

Fake Leather= 4.99/yard (plenty for this project)

Spray Glue= 4.99/can

Total cost= 9.98 plus tax.

do you guys know if its possible to get your steering wheel wraped in leather and have it look nice, not like one of the cheap covers though? I thought it would look pretty cool with some red and black leather wraped around it, but im not sure if an upolstry shop would do that

I don't have a pic of the red shift boot...but it's the same shade of red as the s13...aztec red...i have a picture of my black shift boot with black leather...i can sew them so they have more on the top and are stiffer so they won't droop down below your aftermarket knob like the stock ones do..mine actually tucks up around my stock shift knob-
