Hey guys i was thinking about a shift boot for the cvt. I think a nice leather shift boot to cover up the silver and what not would look really nice, does anyone agree? I was in a cls500(or 550 not sure) and i noticed it had a leather shift boot and it was auto, i think it would look better than the silver cover that is there now. Any thoughts??

I absolutely agree.

I also want a leather wrapped e brake....but I don't know whereto get one.

I think the plastic e brake looks cheap. My Mazda6 had a leatherwrapped e brake...looked tight.

I know that on the general chat there is redlinegoods shift boots that are always doing deals for NICO members, maybe we should shoot them an email and see what they say?

I already prototyped for MT version a while ago. It should be arriving within this week. It's coming from europe as we speak. I posted about this while back, but it took a while for the whole process. Once I get it, I have to create a pictorial installation guide and send it to them. Once I do, it will be available at redlinegoods.com I sent my original MT shift boot and the plastic covering of the ebrake. Only problem I have is that they dont have the exact diameter of the ebrake handle because the one I sent has been shaved off a little to fit my custom metal handle. I posted about this 1-2 weeks ago if anybody could measure their ebake, but no replies at all. Unless I get some measurements, I won't be able to finish the guide for a while because I don't really have time to go to the dealer to measure it myself. Also I asked if group buy is possible and they said there should be no problem in a group buy as long as there is interest.

Ah, I remember your post about that and was kinda wondering what was happening! I don't recall you asking about the e-brake measurements though...I'd go out and check right now, but it's 1am and freakin' cold and I don't wanna........

Any pics of your custom handle?

LOL! I don't need it immediately since it has not arrived yet. Although they sent it priority mail, it's international mail so it takes like 10 days to get here. 2-3 days in customs and stuff. I can't wait to get it! I chose two-tones, black and charcoal. Once I get it and install it, I'll be posting pictures, and maybe we can get poll going to show interest and maybe they can create a speical coupon price or something...

Cool beans.

I checked out their website when you first mentioned it a while back and I was pretty impressed with their stuff. I'm definitely jumping on this when the time comes!

I'm glad you did this Redline Goods certainly has a superior product. I've owned a few sets of their items in a few of my cars. Awesome stuff.

They haven't decided on the price yet. I made $50 deposit for each boot, making it $100 which I will get back when send them the installation guide. The price should be about the same, but if you order both boots, they give a huge discount, like $70 dollar for both. From people I asked around, they all said the quality is very good and price is well worth it. It's real Italian leather sent from Europe.

If you want one for CVT, contact them. You will have to take off the silver covering and send it to them probably because that's their basic prototype policy. They don't take measurments or pictures, they want the covering for sure 100% fit.

Boots finally came! It came yesterday, but couldn't pick it up until this morning. I can't wait to put it in my car. I'll have pictures up tonight if I can only find my camera somewhere. The quality of the leather and the stitching is excellent. I also really like how they did the ebrake cover. Instead of a loose universal fit, they did a tight custom fit.

My computer can't seem to read the memory card so I took pictures with my cell phone. I'll post more pictures when I get to install it.

In the meanwhile, can someone accurately measure the diameter of the ebrake handle part? As you can see, I got handle covering, so redlinegoods want need a regular diameter size.

That looks sweet!

Is it even possible to stick a shift boot on the CVT?

It would have to around the silver oval shaped trim... I'm not sure how it would work.

The cheap plastic around the shifter is one of my biggest beefs with the interior. I would love to see something like this happen for the CVT if someone can come up with something.

+1

Where would the boot go? Around the whole damn thing?

Maybe the MT trim piece can be used.. But wow that would require a lot of fuds just for a **** boot...

Looks really nice! So the company is redline?...like the people who makes the hood dampeners? Aside for the boot on the e-brake, does it come with that sweet aluminum handle too or is that extra?

So are these specifically for the coupe or is it a universal application? Do you have part#?

I'd like an ebrake one, because I already have a black 6MT leather one.

I sent them the pictoral installation guide so they can have the boots available for order online, but they still exact circumference measures for the original brake handle. Mine was made with the handle cover, so can someone please measure their brake handle?

Well i know that the bmw's have an automatic shift boot.wouldn't you just be able to fit a boot into the cvt shifter location and just take out that whole silver piece ???
