shift backwards?

mabe this is a stupid question but if i get an engine from a right hand drive car in japan, when i put it in my left hand drive can is the shift linkage backwards? if so can this be reversed i dont want to have to shift backwards lol

haha, no their shift pattern is exactly the same First gear is to the left and up regardless of which Nissan (USDM or JDM) transmission you have! Clutch, brake, and gas pedals are also in the same locations. The only difference is steering wheel location, and which hand you shift with!

Hehe, but yeah, the pedals are the same, but on the opposite side under the steering wheel

You forgot the Windshield wiper and the turn signal are on the opposite side, I'm always turning on the wipers when I'm trying to signal a left turn/lane change

And then I get used to it and do it all over again when I get back in a LHD car..

or even better alway goin to to the driver side once i moved back to the us from jp and the driver lookin @ me like i was retarded lmao (and vice versa when i visit japan lol)

Yea, thats how we knew all the n00b drivers back at Yokota. Soon as we see the wipers go on, we ALL get as far away from them as possible.
