So originally i bought a CA that was in bad shape, long story short i ended up taking her to MA-Motorsports in Baltimore and had them buy another block and test it out and now she runs like a champ.

the mods i have done were Walboro 255, Sr20 Turbo Elbow and Downpipe, Ebay Tial Knock off BOV.

a few minor things i been meaning to get worked out

1. First off i running a stock Turbo setup and the gauge is reading 10psi, i havent touched the boost nor do i have a controller to adjust this. Is my gauge not reading corectly or is there another issue that was cause it to run at 10psi? Its not really a problem but if its the gauge then iw ould like to replace it.

2. The car is running very rich...not to the point of bogging down but the smell of gas is fairly heavy and the gas mileage is pretty s***ty, i get to about maybe 230 before i have to fill up. MA told me my knock sensor was bad so they eliminated it...after reading up im thinki9ng this could be the issue.

3. When driving around if i hit boost and dis-engage the clutch to let the engine rpms go down to idle, the rpms drop way below idle level to almost 200-300rpms and tehn returns to idle which is 800-1100 and some times the car cuts off because it dropped to low. Im todl my BOV spring is messed up which is causing the BOV to stay open and casue this problem.

I just recently picked up a SAFCII 444cc Injectors and an SR20 Turbo for my next mods

Any input would be appreciated with fixing these issues.

1) your probably running 10psi due to the exhaust being less restrictive. Thats a turbo for you. One way to check if the gauge is accurate is when the car is off does the gauge point to 0?

2) mostlikely cause you have a walbro and the stock fpr. search it up on the forum, happens alot.

3) the rpms drop because it is releasing air from the bov and dumping gas in the engine. common problem on turbo cars with afm's. with the safc2 you should be able to fix this.

my suggestion get a fpr and a fuel pressure gauge first. Second, if its a redtop t25 cool, if its a non ballbearing t28 from an s14 then i would save the money and get something better. I like my turbo to spool up as quick as possible.

My car was running very rich until I installed a knock sensor. Try hooking up a 1 megaohm resistor to the end of the wire and see if that cures your richness problem.

ok i figured it to be teh knock sensor too. If i were to replace the knock sensor, but i hear there hard to come by in working condition, are there any interchangeable knock sensors like could i use an RB20 knock sensor? Or would it be better to leave it elminated and tune out the car with the SAFC II

You can buy a knock sensor for a CA18DE, I hear. But really, if you don't want it, just use a 1 megaohm resistor. That will trick the ECU into thinking it has a knock sensor.

tricking the ECU to having a knock sensor and having a knock sensor are two very different things. buy the knock sensor and wire it up, no half-assing..

Seems like if i just replace and wire up the knock sensor ill kill 2birds with 1 stone. Ill be able to fix my fuel issue and have more reliability with the car as far as detecting detonation, until i get a Standalone!

well none of the autoparts stors seems to carry CA18DE - 88 Pulsar Knock sensors...some didnt even have the part listed. Are there any interchangable ones? like could i use a KA or RB knock sensor?

RockAuto has them online, but they're pretty expensive.

Not that we have them in the US, but they're the same as what's on an RB25 as well.
