shes acting up. engine keeps shutting off

alright now im confused?? i have a 1990 300zx and she was running wonderful until i installed a ac belt. Now most of the time it doesn't even start. every now and then it will start up and last but eventually die. i cant check the gas gauge because my dash is apart. its probably something simple but im missing it. what could be the possibilities? i let it run for a little just to listen to the engine and it sounds like its at low rpm and is about to stall....... any help for a first time z owner.....

First, try loosening the belt you installed. If a belt is too tight, it basically puts strain on the engine instead of letting it run properly.

Second, (and if the loosening the belt doesn't help), check for codes:

When installing the AC belt, you may have loosened the CAS plug. Just make sure its tight. Its the round piece with the black plug.

If that is not it, do what JR said, check for codes.
