I now know why they call it that!

100% Gas

and 100% better than any other gas i have put into my G35!

The power is great and at 4k rpms all the way to red line it is silky smooth!

Was never like that before!

I am sold and this is what i will be putting in my car from now on!

I have to admit I had a few extra bucks (once ) and put 94 in my G. Totally felt wayyyy more responsive!

This is all I've used since I got the G (with the occasional Chevron or Mobil).

Shell's gas has been pretty good to us. All of ours has ethanol though

The addition of ethanol depends on the region and gas station. The Chevron near me does not use it...but that doesn't mean all Chevron's are the same. Just look at the label on the pump...or search online for specific stations use of ethanol.

I've used that in all my cars for a good while, well when I have had a car that deserves something better than pi*s. Wifies car get it all the time and has for a years and it keeps everything clean and running as good as an Acura will.

V-Power is generally regarded as one of the best Premium fuels out there - i always go out of my way to put it in my VQ!

I just switched to V Power. It is one of 3 staions in town that are still ethonal free.

I have noticed a differance over 4k rpm too. Very good smooth power.

I had been using BP and didn't notice that they started adding ethonal, until I started to get knock above 4K at WOT.

Now w/ Shell in it I have no knock. YEA!

I will only use V-Power or BP Ultimate, with V-Power being my preference. MY friend has an 03 M and uses 89 octane from any station and I can defineitely feel the difference, especially at highway speeds.

V-Power is all I ever used. Its rated at 98 here, we also have Shell Racing which is rated at 100, however its 5-10% ethenol.

The SAE is different. The 98 in Aus is the premium here in North Am. That's just the way they calculating it. Same with most places like Europe. They have the 98 too and the 100 and even the 100+.

I can't even tell the difference from Premium shell, premium Esso, or Premium Petro Canada, all the same to me. Some of you must be super sensitive or convincing yourselves that you're getting more power.

Well maybe there is a little differences between the G and the M. That could be a reason why.

I had to pump gas today so I remembered this thread. I went with the V power. So now I am mixing the v power with the vq power.

Anyways I never really checked the pumps. I just noticed at the pump today it say Bronze may contains up 10% ethanol Silver may contains up 5% ethanool V power no ethanol.

The "may contain up to" part I think is not may it is deffinitely.

That could be the reason you feel the power.

Here in chicago, EVERY single gas station within a 200 mile radius is defiled with ethanol. No 100% gasoline to be found. And V-Power is ridiculously expensive, BP is like $.15 cheaper for every grade.

BP FTMFW!!!

I just wanted to use the bunny!!!

Actually, I've been using BP/Amoco gas for YEARS and it's been extremely consistant.

My daughter filled up her Max 00 with prem. SHELL recently and it SPARKED KNOCKED extremely LOUD!!!

Her next tank was BP and there was NO spark knock!!!

Wow, Mixed reviews. Who has proof here in southern Cal. Since we all know that gas fluctuates region to region.....

I don't think most of the V-power has ethanol!

I love the stuff... however it is still 3.99 here!

SVTCOBRA:

Why is a bunny with a pancake on its head hopping around your comment?

Anyway, I have been using Chevron premium these past few days and I am surprised at the improved fuel efficiency i am experiencing. What does Chevron have in their fuel that makes the gas that more fuel efficient than the BP premium I have been using for a while? Both, I beleive, now use ethanol. So, why is Chevron premium being consumed much slower than BP premium. If i drive normally, without any WOT, the gas needle almost never moves at all, inspite fo the fact that I have a test pipe which does cause a small drop in mpg.

And, I noticed that our cars are so sensitive to lower octane gas even in small amounts in the gas tank. I used mid grade in my car this week under emergency conditions as there was no gas available, only for less than 5 % of the total amount of gas in the car as I always have at least 85 - 90 percent gas in the tank at all times, and i noticed the engine had a light ticking sound. I burnt off the gas within an hour and filled up again with premium, and the ticking sound was gone. I don't think the VQ engine likes anything less than premium even if it runs well.

If you looked at the side bar, you'd realize I was in SoCal.

I don't have any issues with Chevron, I just thought my I30 ran rough on it. Never had an issue with the Shell.

Don't expect to find any non ethanol gas in CA.

I'll have to check this out when I get my G back from the EPA. Hopefully they don't put regular gas in it because it will be a full tank of regular.
