the bolt was sheared when i got the turbo, and i have tried to use an easy-out to get it with no luck (my drill just hangs and starts to smoke)

any suggestions on how to get it out, or should i just take it to a machine shop and have them drill it out and re-tap it for a slightly larger stud/bolt?

thanks

-terry

yeah, it was, but i didn't notice it, not a huge deal not mad at you or anything as you probably never noticed it either.

PB Blaster. Advance Auto. Spray it on and let it sit. Repeat about 3 times. Also tap on it after you spray it on. Then use your easy out. If that doesn't get it, then you'll have to take it down and have it fixed.

Mine's exactly the same... Even with a drill press, plenty of penetrating oil, time and effort it was no go. So I'm running it with one bolt missing, no problems so far

One bolt? Cost me $30 for 4 to be drilled out and heli-colied on my 13B.

Have you tried cola?Soak it in cola for a while then spray it like mad with a penatrating oil..Cola seems to break down rust.. I dunno how but I've seen it used to remove rust stains and loosen rusted bolts many times.

Coke is a moderate acid. That's why it's bad for your teeth, it eats the enamel off....
