Clean your battery terminals mine did that the other day.It wouldn't jump start either, I pulled the terminals and cleaned them it fired right up. Had the battery and alternator tested both were fine.

mine did the same thing - it was the starter. Put a cheap rebuilt starter in it - still had the same problem. then I put in a factory nissan rebuilt starter - problem solved.

Had the same problem, too. Found out the guy who owned the car before me had the wrong sized battery installed (too small), and then it finally died. It still didn't start all the time, so i replaced the starter.

had this problem with my bro in laws car. heavy throttle made his wiring harness years ago before they were popular. back when they were still twisting and taping instead of soldering. anyway, wire for ignition for the turbo timer was twister together, that came loose under the dash somehow. only way it started was by push starting. just a suggestion. hope u fix it.

check the battery out, make sure theres water in it and it has good conection, check all your grounds, if that doesnt work get another starter I've had a bad new starter before, it happens especially if its refurb which most are for s13s unless u spend $$$$$$

Car: Tell me whats wrong with this picture. 3 240's, only one runs.

Someone posted a writeup about how to repair your starter on the board. But yes, the answers given are pretty much it. Its either a bad battery connection, or your starter. Both will click, and both will let the electronics still run, but neither will let the engine start.

Check that battery. Do you have a voltmeter handy? If you can, have someone try and start the car while the meter is on the battery directly. Report back with static voltage *nothing on* and voltage while cranking......

I'm betting your voltage while cranking goes down to ~7V, it sounds like a bad cell in the batt. Nissan battery by chance??

Another thing common on s13's is the starter relay.

Aftermarket starters are pretty ****ty IMO as well, but I'm doubting the chances that you have 2 bad starters sitting there, and they tend to go out slowly more often than not. Most of the time acting up when the car's hot.
