Im having the same problem and have no clue what it could be. I put a whole new ignition system in it and nothing. Even checked all my sensors through the ecu diagnostics. If you find a solution Email me at [email protected] and if i fix it ill let you know.

set ur motor to TDC on compression stroke on number 1 cyl. The distributer rotor should be pointing directly to where the number one point would be on the cap, if its not, take it out and make it point that way. (i don't remember which one is number one, and my car isn't here to look at right now)

Whaen you put the disributor in, you have to twist the unit back a little so it will mesh with the gear down in the head and twist as you push in.

If you have the valve cover off its on compression when neither valve is being opened, If you have the valve cover on and you got a DE just look through the oil filler hole and you should be able to see the exhaust cam lobe pointing sideways away from the engine then you just pull the distributer out and set the rotor to #1 (put it in with the cap off and note how it rotates as the gear meshes with the ?cam?
