My 95 S14 has developed a pretty significant water leak. It has been raining off and on for the last three days here and my care sat in the drive way all weekend. Yesterday I got into it and noticed a puddle of water in both of the passenger's side floor boards (i.e., front and back). The fact that both front and back were wet is alarming, because anyone who has had the interior out of a s14 knows there is a large ridge of sheet metal under the seats that would act like a dam. So, I am worried that I may actually have two leaks. I have checked all of the seals and have not noticed any torn places where it may be leaking. So, does anyone have any advice on how to track down an interior leak or where the water may be coming from.

take a hose and run it across the top of your car and you should be able to find the leak

Does your S14 have a sunroof? Stupid Question I know but it had to be asked!

I was gonna ask the sunroof question too. My S13's drains were clogged so after hard rains the ring around the sunroof would be soaked. Drain O isn't just for household use .

If it isn't the sunroof or you don't even have one then I would take a look at the door seals.

The door seals seem okay. Interestingly the problem occurs sporadically. When it rains sometimes it doesn't leak. For instance, last night it came a down pour but no leak. Also it doesn't leak sometimes when I go through one of those brushless washes. Thus, I think that the window does not form a tight seal sometimes.

perhaps the seals seal better or worse with temperature change...or swell as they get wet so they leak at first then stop??? just thoughs...

Every once in a while I end up with water in the S13's trunk and I cant explain it. It never happens two times in a row either. I had to pull the plugs in the spare tire well to get rid of it too.

I could not trace it, so good luck.

did u check your tailight seals/gaskets whatever. pull out the plastic panels in the back and climb in. Have a friend pour water and see where its coming in from. Mine had water in the trunk and it was coming from that. Just take some sealant or something or go to NAPA and get some 3m butyl rubber and reseal it up.
